The latest episode of Carnage showcases a big milestone in our VS Commodore ute project, as Scotty gets the thing driving for the very first time!
The ute has come a bloody long way from the humble V6 manual it was when we got it. That driveline was binned for a full-fat 427ci Dart LS, built by Scotty with a pair of Pulsar turbos feeding it.

The team at MPW Performance & Race Fab have been mega with this build, sorting all the fabrication jobs with the intercooler, exhaust, turbo mounting, rollcage and seats, along with setting up the RTS nine-inch diff and four-link.
Since the ute came back from its first round of fab work at MPW, Scotty has been working overtime to get it ready to drive. He’s had to fully wire the car for its new Haltech Nexus R5 VCU; install the AllFast Powerglide; plumb the fuel system, power steering and cooling; and take care of everything else needed for a build of this level.

This episode, it all comes together, with the ute finally driving under its own power!
However, to get to that point, Scotty first had to finish off the power steering plumbing and shifter cable installation, and fill the Powerglide with fresh fluid. The new Wilwood rear brakes were bled, and the coolant system saw some liquid for the first time as well.

With our VS now pretty close to its final form, it’s back off to Adam Rogash and the lads at MPW to have some final fab work finished. Then it’ll hit the dyno and make some noise! While we wait for that, enjoy the new episode below!
