IN THIS third episode of Holden’s Project Monaro build, the boys get busy building a shiny new driveline and some custom 3D-printed parts.

The Holden team wanted only the best to tackle the freshen-up of their LS1, so they head straight to Maurice Fabietti from Fabietti Race Engines. Maurice is no stranger to big horsepower, his ACDelco Pro Slammer Monaro drag car making 3500hp and destroying eardrums everywhere it goes.

While there is no intention of making the LS for the Monaro anything close to that level of power, it isn’t left untouched. The donk is completely torn down and machined, with a hot cam from Eagle Auto Parts, a raise in compression to 11.3:1 and a CNC port job from Higgins Race Heads to help the new gear breathe easy. The 4L60E ’box gets a refresh as well to handle the extra ponies.

The crew then head to the Red Bull Holden Racing Team’s humble abode to suss out some 3D-print some custom parts made by EVOK3D. Some slick bonnet vents, rear lip spoiler and a few other bits and bobs were dreamed up for the Munro, using the same tech that goes into printing stuff for the RBHRT ZB Commodore Supercars.
