Top Fuel returns to Sydney Dragway

The nitro drought is about to break, with Top Fuel Australia announcing a three-team test day in November

Race fans will be able to get their first fix of nitromethane in a long time at Sydney Dragway on November 5 and 6 as Top Fuel Australia returns for 2021.

Jim Read Racing, Lamattina Top Fuel Racinga and Rapisarda Autosport International will bring a minimum of four cars between them to the two-day test and tune. The Queensland-based PremiAir team of Peter Xiberraswill be absent at this stage due to border closures.

In addition to the Top Fuel teams, a gaggle of other heavy hitters are expected to attend – including Top Doorslammer, Pro Mods, Top Sportsman and Pro Stock teams. Sportsman racers are also welcome to enter their cars and rub shoulders with the big dogs. Entries will open soon at sydneydragway.com.au

“The weekend should have a really nice, relaxed vibe,” series co-promoter Andy Lopez told Street Machine.

“The test and tune will be a great chance for the fans to get up close and personal with cars and meet the teams.”

Round one of the Top Fuel Championship will be held at Sydney Dragway, January 21 and 22. You can check out the full calendar here.

And if you are a sportsman racer who needs to get their ANDRA tech sorted, there will be a tech day run at Sydney Dragway this Friday from 2pm to 8pm, and on Saturday from 10am to 8pm – weather permitting. The days will be run on a first come, first served basis.
