The National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC) is about to double the nitro at Sydney Dragway for the first time ever, with Top Fuel Dragsters and Nitro Funny Cars set to join forces for the Gulf Western Oil Nitro Champs across May 3-5.

Feel it, hear it, try and comprehend it – these 11,000hp fire-breathing beats are about to bring the most nitro in Nitro Champs history.

A massive field of seven Top Fuel fire breathing monsters will battle it out for Nitro Champs glory as they compete for two complete championship rounds – one on Saturday and another on Sunday – delivering three passes each day, double the points, double the trophies and double the bragging rights!

At the same time a huge field of six flame-throwing Nitro Funny Car missiles will shake the earth at speeds of 500km/h for a massive day of qualifying on Saturday and three rounds of racing on Sunday.

Joining the Top Fuel Dragsters and Nitro Funny Cars will be Top Doorslammer, Fuel Tech Pro Mod, Pro Stock, Top Fuel Motorcycle (exhibition), and the Aeroflow National Sportsman Championship.

“Tonnes of on-track action start to finish is guaranteed, so you don’t want to miss this explosive showdown, only at the Gulf Western Oil Nitro Champs,” NDRC Co-Founder, Andy Lopez, said.

Like Top Fuel, the Aeroflow National Sportsman Championship will also be enjoying two rounds of championship racing at the Gulf Western Oil Nitro Champs, with double points, double Christmas Tree trophies and double the bragging rights on the line.

Friday May 3 will be a dedicated Sportsman day with a full day of qualifying, racing, points, and trophies, before Saturday and Sunday (4/5 May) sees it all start again with a second NDRC championship round for the Aeroflow National Sportsman Championship racers. Entries are open now, with early-bird entrant prices ending on April 19 (Gulf Western Oil entries close Wednesday 24 April).
