THE Street Machine Drag Challenge freight train rolled into the Victorian town of Swan Hill on Wednesday for Day Three of this year’s event.
Swan Hill is a new quarter-mile track, which we christened at last year’s DC. Since then, the track has been resurfaced and a flash new control tower built. It really is a great facility and it was pumping with competitors and spectators shortly after gates opened.
For one-tonner pilot Jarrod Wood, Swan Hill is his home track, but it didn’t prove to be a happy hunting ground for him, as you’ll see in the video. And with Bubba Medlyn already out after blowing an engine late in the previous day at Mildura, the field at the pointy end was thinning fast.
Meanwhile, Harry Haig and his crew slept the night outside the local Repco and then spent the day frantically trying to do another gearbox repair.
That left the LS boys in the box seat: Quentin Feast, Mark Drew and Adam Rogash. Check out the vid to see how they fared.
