Supermang is back! That’s right, the fan favourite L67-powered VN Berlina is back in this week’s episode of Carnage, as Scotty gets it ready for a brand new engine.

Quite a while ago, we commissioned the lads at Top Torque to put together a stroker V6 4.2-litre bottom end for the VN. With other projects taking up time we haven’t had the chance to dump the big bertha V6 in, but now the time has come.

Scotty begins by throwing in a MACE Engineering-spec camshaft, and a double row timing chain kit. A lot of the parts we need for this mill will have to come from the VNs current 3.8-litre L67, so the time did come to pull the engine out of the Berlina.

It’ll be donating its head, intake, blower, accessory drive and just about everything else to get the 4.2-litre ready to fry in the VN. Getting the engine out was relatively painless, but it did feel a bit sad to pull apart a perfectly working car.

Given the VN ran a best of 12.53@106mph with this old engine and blower, we’re super keen to see what the new stroker can do. The eventual plan is to throw a turbo on in place of the M90 blower, but we’ve got a long way to go before we get to that stage.

So, crack you favourite coldie and kick up your feet for the long weekend, it’s Carnage time!
