It’s new engine day in this episode of Carnage, as Scotty drops our new 4.2-litre L67 stroker V6 into the ‘Supermang’ Berlina.
In last week’s episode, Scotty hit a few roadblocks when he started the process of dressing the 4.2-litre short block with the heads, manifolds, timing cover and accessories from the old 3.8-litre L67.

But this week, there’s no time for delays, as Scotty has decided the VN will debut its new fatty at Optima Ultimate Street Car 2025 at Calder Park on Saturday 15 February, which is just over a week away as we write this.
This week’s episode sees him assemble the long block and get it in the car ready for its first fire-up. Scotty bolted on the heads, sump, front and rear covers, and the valvetrain gear before sticking the engine in the VN.

Big shout-out to the Dandy Engines crew, who let Scotty borrow their parts cleaners to give the filthy V6 components a much-needed clean before bolting them to the fresh stroker.
Next week will be full steam ahead to get this new combo running, dyno-tuned and race-ready for Optima. If you want to come out to Calder on Saturday, 15 February to see Scotty run the VN and say g’day, you can grab tickets as a spectator – or enter our VIP Park-Up show ’n’ shine at the event – right here.
