The 2025 running of Optima Ultimate Street Car presented by R&J Batteries is shaping up to be the biggest one yet! The event is being held on 15 February at Calder Park Raceway and now has drifting demos and roll racing added to the already-stacked schedule.

We’re also super pleased to announce Jake Myers and the S1CKO Mustang will be in attendance, so you can see Jake and the Muzzy up and close and personal in the pits.

Along with the autocross, speed-stop, hot lap and drag racing challenges from last year that all the entrants will face, organisers have also thrown in two drift demo sessions throughout the day. Jake will also be burning rubber on track throughout the day, so make sure you get trackside for that!

Led by Jordan Sanderson’s SMT Mustang, the demos will also include fellow OUSC competitors going sideways, including Drift Cadet’s Peter Pham in his Toyota 86, James Mackie’s XY Falcon, Christina Vithoulkas’s S13 Silvia, Mercury Lien in her 350Z drift car and more!

While it won’t form part of the official competition, the drifting demos at 12pm and 4pm during the day will give spectators extra value for money.

If that wasn’t enough, once the official Optima USC competition concludes with the drag racing in the evening, we’ll jump straight into roll racing down the strip at Calder from 7pm.

If you’ve got an entrant ticket, then you’re automatically entered into the roll racing, where there’s $500 prize money to race for, and spectators can also stick around at no extra cost to check it out. If you’re keen to enter the roll racing after Optima, it’s $100 for the nights racing.

If you’re keen to bring your car down but not hit the track, we’re once again running our Street Machine VIP Park-Up. You’ll get prime parking in the event for the same price as general admission, and the first 100 cars in the VIP Park-Up will score themselves a Chemical Guys car care pack worth over $80 to keep their rides looking schmick and clean. Submit your entry here!

On top of all that, we’ll be choose six of our favourite cars to do a photoshoot from the show and shine. You’ll get your car photographed by the country’s best, your car in the magazine and a neat package of the photos to go with it! You can enter your car in the VIP Park-Up here.
