A few weeks back, Scotty began the rust repair process on our little TA Torana two door we’ve been sitting on for a few years now.

We still don’t have a concrete plan for what we’re going to do with this car, but regardless of what it ends up becoming, a rusty shell will not be the bill. We actually purchased this car because of how rust free it is for a 70s Holden, but there was still a few spots to address.

With Kemppi coming onboard as a sponsor of Carnage just in time to start this project, it was the perfect excuse to Scotty to get well acquainted with their high quality gear.

In the last Torana episode, Scotty fixed a small patch on the firewall and replaced the passenger side front floor pan with a repro one from our mates at Rare Spares. Continuing on with that work in this week’s video, he got busy repairing another hole in the passenger side, before moving onto the driver’s side floor pan.

To go along with our sweet TIG and MIG welders, Kemppi also spoiled Scotty by sending him out one of their Zeta helmets. As well as having the ventilation system to keep nasty welding gasses out of your lungs, it also features lights built in! That means you can see with ease when you’re welding, no need to mess around putting work lights in the way while you’re creating metal fusing magic.

The last major piece of rust to sort was a small patch on the bottom of the rear window channel, made a hell of a lot easier to repair by the rear glass already being removed. A Rare Spares panel saved literal hours of bending and measuring that’d be needed to make a piece fit, and Scotty had solid metal in the slot in on time.

Enjoy this week’s latest episode below! And thanks again to VPW Australia and Kemppi for supporting Carnage.
