We’re back working on our little two-door TA Torana in this episode of Carnage, as Scotty continues the rust repairs to get the car one step closer to hitting the road.
In recent episodes on the TA, you would’ve seen Scotty replace the front floorpans with Rare Spares repair panels and sort out a few other rusty spots around the car.

Although the bulk of that work is done, this week’s episode has Scotty finishing off the job. While the top side of the floor panels were welded in, he had to reinforce that with more welding underneath, which meant chucking the TA on the hoist for the first time in our ownership.
Doing so revealed more rust in one of the sills, but it was nothing Scotty couldn’t tackle with ease thanks to our shiny new Kemppi welding gear.

With the underside of the floor panels and the rust in the sill filled and fixed, the next step was to seal the whole lot with some automotive-grade Sikaflex.
Gloves, a caulking gun and a spatula made this task a breeze, and once it’s dried, Scotty can lay some stone guard on it that’ll have it last another 50-odd years.

Enjoy the new episode below, and expect some action on our other Torana very soon!
