The 2024 Red CentreNATS burnout finals are run and done with Pro Burnout series, open class, wildcard tickets and over $20,000 of prize money on the line across the classes.
The open class was up first in the sweltering heat, with 20 competitors from Friday’s qualifying duking it out in the final.
Justin McKinnis and his VS ute Mr Chow took out top honours, with Robert Cottrell second in FATTONY and Luke Taylor GLBLOCK rounding out the podium.
Before the Pro Burnout top 10 took to the pad, the Pro Burnout Ultimate Redemption Round warmed things up, with those who missed out on a spot in the top 10 from Friday’s qualifying given one last chance to snag a wildcard for Street Machine Summernats 37.
Ryan Lofts was the lucky duck who scored the Redemption Round ticket. After the car choked on the pad during Friday’s qualifying, he virtually re-wired the Commodore and came out with a vengeance on the pad to make good on Friday’s issues.
The Pro Burnout top 10 was heated as always, with plenty of carnage en route to crowning the 2024 Red CentreNATS burnout king or queen.
Both Rick Fuller in LSONE and Ryan Pearson in HOLDON left the pad with passenger side rear quarter damage after tagging the wall, hanging it all out as always.
Warren Gersekowski in 1TUFHG and Scott Yates in the YATESZ Commodore both smoked out the pad, but it was Christopher Smallmon in the bright yellow BLOWNVY Commodore who took home top prize and $15,000 cash.
