POWERCRUISE Powerplay hits Queensland Raceway for one day of tyre-burning race, drift, burnout and skid action this Saturday. Gates open nice and early at 6am, with track time from 8am, so it’s going to be a jam-packed day with plenty of time to cruise the track and wreck some tyres. It costs between $80 and $240 to enter your car, depending on what events you want to do, and it’s cheaper to register online rather than on the day. Spectator cost is $30 if you pre-pay online, or $40 at the gate.

Fans of Holden V8s and sixes will be heading to Heathcote Park Raceway this Saturday for the first Holden-Powered Nationals. So if you’re keen to watch a bunch of 202s, 3.8s, 253s, 308s, 355s and even a few 383s scream down the strip, load up the Kingswood or Calais and head to Heathcote. The gates open Friday night at 4.30pm, with racing from 6-10pm. On Saturday gates open at 8.30am with racing from 10am until around 6pm.

Mopar Muscle Weekend is on this Saturday and Sunday at Warwick Drag Strip in Queensland – a whole weekend of eighth-mile drag strip time! There’s also a show ’n’ shine event and camping available at the track, so grab the family and jump in the Valiant or other Mopar machine and get down to Warwick Drag Strip this weekend.

For the Sydney people, there is a car show on this Friday night at the Torque Bar & Grill American-Style Steak House. It’s free to enter your car, and trophies – along with food vouchers for the Torque Bar – will be awarded to the owners of the best rides. The action kicks off from around 6pm.

Autumn Fest Kustom Kars & Kulture is on all this weekend at the Maitland Showgrounds in NSW. This is a great weekend event full of cruising and dancing, with some of the best rockabilly and country swing bands in the land. Plus there will be pinstriping, custom painting, hot rod building and auto trimming. It all kicks off on Friday; for more information visit the Autumn Fest website.

The Wheels at Wollondilly car show is on this Saturday at the Wollondilly Anglican College, Tahmoor, NSW. Entry is open to any make, model or year, including bikes, trucks and machinery. Food will be available on the day along with various car enthusiast stalls. There will also be activities for the kids and trophies awarded to the best cars from a number of categories.

At Willowbank Raceway this Saturday night, there is a test ’n’ tune session open to all types of cars and bikes. Gates open at 5:30pm, with quarter-mile action from 6pm until late. It costs $45 to race, $20 to be a passenger and $20 to spectate.
