Your regular Carnage chieftain Scotty Taylor is currently on holidays and having a blast in the USA, so for something a bit different for this week’s episode, cameraman Matty Hull steps on the other side of the lens.

Not only is Matty a gun videographer, but he also knows a thing or two about building cheap and fun cars. He documented his Hyundai Excel circuit car build on his YouTube channel, The Nugget Project, which has more recently seen him repairing a pair of AW11 Toyota MR2s.

This white car is his supercharged model, factory-fitted with the 1.6-litre 4A-GZE four-pot. These Temu mid-engined Ferraris are bloody cool, but they’re also quite rare in Australia and, as Matty has found out twice, extremely prone to rust.
Luckily, the legends at Kemppi recently came onboard as a major supporter of Carnage. Regular viewers would’ve already seen Scotty put some Kemppi gear to good use to fix the rust in our TA Torana project, so Matty decided to do the same to rectify some of the metal cancer in his MR2.

Like Scotty, Matty is not a professional fabricator, which just goes to show how easy these Kemppi welders are to use, and he’s pretty handy at making his own patch panels as well.

Enjoy the new episode below, and let us know if you want to see more of Matty and his MR2 zoo!
