Dave Cufone wins the Gazzanats Darwin burnout comp in his blown '71 Chevelle 1FATRAT

SOUTH Australian Dave Cufone has won Gazzanats NT at Hidden Valley Raceway, Darwin in the mental 1FATRAT ’71 Chevelle. The car is powered by a 12/71 blown and injected 510-cube big-block Chev built by BNR Engines which makes around 1300hp. The combo is fairly new as the car used to have a 468-cube blown carby setup.

So far this year Dave hasn’t had a whole lot of luck with the car. He had a tyre fire at Summernats, broke a tailshaft and gearbox at Murray Bridge and then broke another tailshaft and gearbox at Gazzanats WA. So he was stoked to keep it together this weekend and come away with the win.

Both his qualifying and final skids were super aggressive and he used all of the track getting up close to the walls. Check out the video to see how Dave pulled off the win!
