MOTORVATION over in Western Australia is the longest continually running car show in the country. At 32 years old this year, it’s been going for even longer than Street Machine Summernats. The event encapsulates just about every aspect of the modified car scene in Australia, with Aussie and American muscle cars, low-riders, customs, hot rods, and just about everything in between.
You’ll find elite-level show cars on display, the best of the best burnout cars tearing it up on the Motorplex pad, plus powerskids, cruising and drag racing – there really is something for everybody, and it’s the event for people on that side of the Nullarbor.
One of the toughest cars at this year’s Motorvation was George Separovich’s new blown and injected VF Commodore skid rig, NUTTR. The car has been a work in progress for the past two years, and George now feels like he has a handle on its PSI-blown small-block Chev combo. While the car stopped on the pad just 40 seconds into its skid due to an issue with the points box, nothing was hurt and George will be at Gazzanats WA later this month.
Matt James was back out with his UNWANTED VF ute and COMPACT Fairlane, following his amazing one-two finish in the Summernats 31 Burnout Masters. He gave the wall a whack in UNWANTED, but put on a clinic in the Fairlane and took out first place in the Blown class.
