CRAIG Eveleigh owns and races this crazy Ford Barra turbo six-powered TD Cortina. The motor started as an unopened FG 4.0-litre with all the bolt ons and it made 720rwhp and went low nines down the quarter mile, then Craig stepped it up with his current combo – a forged internal, billet crank setup with a stout Precision turbo pumping 35psi and 1100rwhp.

It’s a monster setup and all that grunt hits the road via a two-speed Powerglide with all the bells and whistles and a nine-inch diff suspended on coil overs. This setup has gone 8.40 @ 167mph down the quarter and just recently a new eighth mile PB of 5.35 @ 134mph. The car is fully registered and mod plated and gets the occasional Sunday drive on the street but it’s mainly built for racing.

Check out the video as Craig talks us through his killer ride and how he’s managed to squeeze so much grunt out of the old faithful Ford six.
