Tuff Mounts/Muscle Garage relocates to huge new workshop

Tuff Mounts/Muscle Garage goes big with an enormous new headquarters and an open day to celebrate

WITH demand for its weapons-grade range of Tuff Mounts engine and transmission mounts always on the up, Muscle Garage has relocated to a brand-new headquarters – and it’s a whopper! The new premises (located at 2 Denis Street, St Marys, SA) is 1400 square metres, effectively quadrupling the available workshop space and doubling the size of the showroom.

“It’s big!” says Muscle Garage frontman Jason Waye, stating the obvious. “On the Tuff Mounts side of the business, it’s allowed us to expand our fabrication shop, with pre-production and prototyping hoists for all our research and development work. It’s also allowed us to offer a drive-in/drive-out engine conversion service using Tuff Mounts products, as well as a performance-car service centre.”

With the recent introduction of club registration for modified cars in South Australia, Jason saw an opportunity to offer a service for reviving performance cars that might have been sitting idle in the shed for years. “We go right through them and check over the fuel systems and the brakes, then we can do rego inspections. Reviving old muscle cars and getting them back on the road is a really rewarding process,” he says. “We’re also involved in a couple of classic race car restorations, which is a bit of a passion of mine. The only thing we don’t do is basic servicing on daily drives – we only like to work on cool cars.”

To celebrate the new shop, Muscle Garage is having an open day on Saturday 30 March, from 8:30am ’til 2:30pm. “A local club had organised to have a club rego day, so we figured it was an opportunity to show off the new shop to the masses,” Jason says. “There will be a heap of cars on display and lots of parking, so jump in your cool car and come down and say g’day!”
