NSW Police district lists their final Holden Commodore on Marketplace

Ryde Police Area Command retire their final Commodore with joke Marketplace listing

Share

Ryde Police Area Command listed its last-ever Commodore patrol car on Facebook Marketplace for $4900 earlier this month. It was, however, a joke post, prompted by members of the public asking to buy the car.

The now-deleted ad reads that the car was “driven by one elderly female driver to church every Sunday and Woolies”, and claimed it was “Never thrashed. Never went over 80km/h.”

The ad ends with the classic line “Serious buyers only, I know what I have.”

The Commodore was replaced with a (yawn) Hyundai Santa Fe after hitting 190,000km. Maybe they wanted to sell it before another timing chain was due? In any case, at $4,900 we would have taken them up on the offer, if only as pub car.

We give this joke 2/5. More work needed to reach Betoota Advocate standards.
