The Gold Coast’s Grant Pollard has etched his name into Rockynats history, taking out the Rockynats 06 Champion award, only 48 hours after unveiling his show & go VC Commodore.
Despite having almost zero minutes behind the wheel, Grant wheeled the stunning drag & drive weapon with confidence at the famous Quay Street drags and on the challenging motorkhana/go-to-whoa course, which is located on the burnout pad.

It was a tight victory though, with the VC finishing in front of reigning Red CentreNATS Champion Jim McLaren in his ENVIE HQ Monaro by a single point!

The field was stacked with toughies, including Jason Behan’s LS turbo powered Valiant ute, Jason Brisenden’s SPAZMS Torana and Jason Holt’s stunning VH SL/E Commodore

The VB has been built as a four-seater drag & drive car for Jason and his mates to enjoy and will be teched down to 8.0 for Drag Challenge competition – and even some US events such as Rocky Mountain Raceway. It even runs aircon!

Under the bonnet is a Warspeed-built, 2000p-capable Dart-block 388ci LS with a pair of ProBoost G42 compact turbos which you can check out in detail here.

The VC looks a million bucks with this SL/E-style two-tone paint, using jet black over pearl white. The undercarriage is just as neat, decked out in the same pearl white with black accents.

The car was built at Weavers Autobody Restorations:

“I was really lucky that Russell let me build the car at his premises,” says Grant. “I’m a spray painter by trade, but I do fly in-fly out for work now, meaning I have only been able to work on it two weeks out of the six. So we built it at Weavers with Grant’s guidance. Those guys did the body work inside, out and underneath and I did the paint. It’s been a great build over seven years.”
