The champions are Hare & Forbes Machineryhouse are more than just sellers of industry-leading workshop gear, they’re also looking to provide buyers with the skills needed to get the most out of their equipment.

As part of that, Hare & Forbes has just announced a new program that gives aspiring metal magicians the opportunity to purchase a Metalmaster power hammer at a smoking price and receive expert tuition in using the beast from Sydney-based coachbuilding legends, Vaughan Ryan and Georgio Rimi from MotoRRetro. Not only are Vaughan and Georgio renowned across the industry for their skills, but they also receive rave reviews for their classes and teaching techniques.
The classes are taking place at Hare & Forbes stores in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth from March until August, where Vaughan and Georgio will teach you how to use their new power hammer and other metal shaping equipment to shrink, stretch, dome, edge turn, bead, and form louvres.

You’ll also have access to the full Metalmaster range, including shrinker stretchers, English wheels and planishing hammers, as part of the two-day class.
On top of that, you’ll save hundreds off the RRP cost of the power hammer as part of the deal, so you’ll get to learn how to use it and save money!

“Our class helps you to get the best value for money out of your purchase,” says Vaughan Ryan. “You learn the correct procedures when setting up your tooling, which material to use for various applications, correct processes and procedures, as well as the all-important dos and don’ts, which include custom-making dyes. We also cover service and maintenance, individual applications, motorcycles, custom cars, light aircraft, art sculptures, vehicle restos, and so on.
“We usually get the students to team up in pairs, starting with bigger panels and sharing the one machine, which is great as they learn from each other. People all learn in different ways, so an intimate group we find works well.
“The class takes on a lot, and we always find that the first day is super-difficult, but by lunchtime on day two, we find the guys and girls are usually flying.”
