IMPORTANT UPDATE

The first thing to update you on is that ANDRA will now be handling scrutineering at Atlantic Oils Sunset Strip, with IHRA taking care of the rest of the event.

To make this as simple as possible for everyone involved, ANDRA and IHRA have agreed to a reciprocal licence arrangement. That means you’ll only need one licence, medical and current tech for your car.

Make sure your licence, medical and tech are up to date before the event.

Don’t have a licence? If your car runs no quicker than 10.00 seconds for unmodified, modern street cars (that is, factory-fitted with four-wheel disc brakes and a functional airbag) or 10.50 for unmodified early-model cars, we will provide you with day licences to cover the full event, for nix.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT REGO DAY, TUESDAY 29 OCTOBER

  • Scrutineering is open from 9am to 6pm – so aim to arrive no later than 5pm, worst case.

  • Grab a spot in the pits and park up. Then proceed to the credentials building, where you and your crew will sign your paperwork, and you’ll be given armbands and your welcome pack. Then, grab your merch from the merch tent – make sure you get your merch straight away.

  • With that done, bring your car around to scrutineering. You don’t need to bring your trailer to scrutineering, but remember that it must be single-axle and no taller than 190cm.

  • You can present the car wearing its street rubber, but you’ll need to have your race wheels and tyres with you for inspection if required. Make sure your car is roadworthy and all the basics are sorted. You’ll also need to present your helmet and other safety gear appropriate to your tech.

  • We’ll have a barbecue for lunch and our team will be running around taking photos and interviewing as many of you as we can! We’ll also do an informal group photo in front of the staging lanes at 2pm.

DAY ONE, WEDNESDAY 30 OCTOBER

  • This is go time! Gates will open to competitors at 7am.

  • If you are leaving your tow rig inside the Thunderdome for the week, please park it up immediately when you arrive in the morning. If your rig is still in the pits when racing starts at 9am, you will be disqualified.

  • From that time onwards, you will be unable to access your rig until the end of competition. If your car breaks and you need to retrieve your tow rig, contact us to arrange access.

  • Our drivers’ briefing will be at 8.30am; please make sure your entire crew attends.

  • Be aware that we will conducting random breath testing during the event; driver and crew will all need to show a zero blood alcohol reading during competition.

  • Racing will start at 9am and run until 3pm. Depending on the track and weather conditions on the day, we’ll make a call on which class goes out first and let you know at the drivers’ briefing.

  • You can have as many runs as you like, but be aware that once you’ve had three runs, we may preference cars that have yet to get down the track.

  • It is a long drive to Mildura, so plan to get your runs done and get on the road as early as possible. Stuffing around can bite you in the butt!

VERY IMPORTANT BEFORE YOU LEAVE CALDER

  • When you have a timeslip you are happy with, return to the credentials building and hand it to the Street Machine staff.

  • You’ll then receive your route maps, which will show where the first mandatory stop is. You’ll need to take a photo of your car outside the mandatory stop and show it to us when you hand in your timeslip on Day Two.

  • Remember, you and your crew are on your own from then on. No tow vehicles or support cars can follow you. Please drive safely. Any anti-social behaviour or illegal driving will lead to disqualification.

THANK YOU!

Our thanks to all of you, the tracks, track staff, and our amazing team for making all this happen! We’re pumped for a massive event.
