We check out some neat classics and a few modern heroes at this week's auction

It’s time to take a look at what’s crossing the block with Grays for their classic car auction, running from now through till Tuesday evening.

Our first pick is this sweet XC sedan, rocking 351 Clevo power, manual gearbox and a nicely presented black interior. She looks like a jump-in-and-go cruiser, so check out the listing here.

Our next pick is this HT Monaro, but don’t laugh at us just yet! Sure, it may be rusty, and it looks like someone started fixing that before it hit the auction block. But, because of all that, this could prove to be the cheapest way into a two door HK-T-G without having to pay the premium for a restored machine.

It’s the perfect candidate for a pro street build, or Roadkill that summbitch together and take it to events like Chopped and the Mud Run! It’s probably one of the few Monaro’s left of this era where you can find them in this state, with just about all the others restored or crushed long ago. See the listing here.

If you fancy a classic Holden but don’t want a project, this ’73 HQ GTS sedan should do nicely. A factory 308 car, it’s by no means perfect, but that just gives you the excuse to actually use the damn thing, just how GMH intended! Check out the listing here.

Changing it up from the classics, we’ve got a refreshingly nice FG II XR6 Turbo up for grabs, in manual with just 54,000km!

It’s a Limited Edition, which is just a fancy way of saying you got a whole bunch of options standard. Because of that, this FG boasts full leather interior, sunroof, bigger 19in special alloys and premium stuff inside and out. See the listing here.

Another modern Aussie muscle pick for us is this 2003 CV8 Monaro, painted in Devil Yellow. It’s honest enough, with a dyno sheet included showing 212rwkW from some work that’s been done in the past for a little extra shove. These make for super nice weekend cruisers, so check out the listing here.

This next pick is for our boss Simon Telford, because he loves a humpy! This one is a 1948 FJ-225 Special Sedan, looking to be in solid condition for what is essentially the genesis for Aussie motoring. You can see the listing here, and there’s also a ute in this week’s auction as well!

Our final pick from this week’s classic car auction is a 90s hero we seem to have forgotten about in Australia, the Volvo 850R! Built with Walkinshaw UK for their version of touring car racing at the time, the Volvo 850R wasn’t your Mum’s Sunday church runner.

Sadly this one isn’t a wagon, nor is it manual. Even so, the British racing green colour and well kept cream interior are reasons enough for a second look, so do so right here.

You can view all these and the rest of the lots in this week’s Grays classic car auction right here.
