Rick Ciaschetti
Datsun 1200 ute

“Here’s my Datsun 1200 ute that’s currently in the build at RCFAB, my automotive fabrication business in Southern Highlands, NSW.

“We have widened the body from the centre by 200mm and extended the wheelbase by 250mm.

“It has a custom chassis and rollcage, nine-inch diff, and a parallel four-link set-up for no-prep racing.

“It’s going to be fitted up with a Ford Barra, a G42-1200 turbo and an 8HP eight-speed transmission, and will run a Haltech Nexus R3 with all the bells and whistles.”

Scott Westbrook
Ford TC Cortina

“In 2017, I drove 1600km from Karratha to Perth to pick up a very rusty, registered and engineered, 302 Windsor-swapped ’73 TC Cortina to restore.

“Because of all its rust, I also bought a second ’73 TC running a 250ci engine and three-speed manual.

“Nine long years later, the two Cortinas are now one, registered and so close to being driven.

“A full rewire is the last job on a very long list.

“Every single piece of both cars has been removed, repaired, restored or replaced in my garage to piece together this almost complete Corty.

“The paint is now Ford Grabber Blue, and it also has a 347 Windsor, C4 ’box, smoothed engine bay, and new upholstery in the interior – a mix of new and old-school to create a tough cruiser that will never leave my possession.”

Dayne Brasher
1972 Chevy Nova

“I was born a Ford man – Allan Moffat was the legend I loved – but after months of looking for a classic Ford to buy, I got pissed off.

“The price of Falcons today is ridiculous! But then I saw an ad for a ’72 Chevy Nova, so I thought I’d have a geez.

“As soon as I pulled up and saw it sitting in the factory, I knew I had to have it. Ideas came to mind; impulse took over.

“American muscle, fat, no room in the back seats, and enough room under the hood for something that’ll leave skid marks in the worst of places!

“The day it arrived, I took the eldest son with me and told him it’s an American muscle car.

“For whatever reason, he now calls it a ‘strong car’.

“As I reversed it down our driveway, the missus came out and said, ‘Wow! That’s cool!’, and that’s all I needed to hear.

“Here she sits, with bugger-all rust and all the parts.

“But with some loud tunes and a few darts, she’ll be done, as the moon shall pass.”

Jimmy Tseberas
Ford XC Falcon

“This XC sedan was my first car; I’ve owned it since 1988.

“I’m a motor technician by trade and have been rebuilding the car for a while.

“It now has large tubs, a full rollcage through the dashboard, and a floating four-link with a chrome-moly diff.

“Up front, it’s running a 408-cube solid-roller Windsor with twin 91mm Precision turbos.

“The car sits on a set of Center Line Pro Stock rims, with 325/50R15 Mickey Thompson rubber on the rear.”
