We car nerds love reliving cool and quirky trim packs, including marketing ploys like the risky Collingwood FC VF Holden Commodore, the Nissan Pulsar Reebok, the Carla Zampatti Laser, the Ford LTD Cartier and a whole host more.

One bright and out-there package from the USA was the 1974-1975 Dodge Dart Hang 10. Debuted at the 1973 Chicago Auto Show, it featured colourful, surfing-themed styling to appeal to young and hip American buyers. Remind you of a certain Holden panel van?
Dodge went all-in on the surf culture with this one. A $254 trim option under code A63, the Hang 10 pack was a dealer-fitted option.

All Hang 10 cars were A-body Darts painted in EW1 Eggshell White and fitted with the striking decal package on the sides and bonnet, which included an actual surfer on the rear quarter. Inside, you got colourful door trims, red-painted interior accents and red shag carpet.
The fold-down rear seat ensured there was plenty of room to fit a surfboard or two, which would leave egg on the face of dual-cab owners today. Optional extras included a manual sunroof, ‘Tuff’ steering wheel, Rallye wheels, air con and a white vinyl roof.

The slant-six and auto were standard, but buyers could option a manual, as well as small-block 318 or 360 V8s.
There are no official build figures, but the general consensus is that around 700 made it into the real world during 1974-’75. It was recently discovered that dealers ordered around 1000 sticker packs, so there could be more out there.
