“I’VE had this 1968 SS Camaro for 18 years now; it’s an ongoing project. I purchased it from a guy in Mount Macedon; it had a 350 Chev, four-speed and 12-bolt diff at the time.
Now it runs a 400ci small-block pushing out around 550hp, with a Scat crank, Icon forged pistons, Scat H-beam rods, Crow hydraulic-roller cam, Edelbrock Victor alloy heads and Yella Terra shaft rockers.
On top is an Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap manifold and 750 Holley carby, with spark coming from an ICE ignition system. A 350 trans with a shift kit and 3500 Dominator stall converter gets the power back to a shortened 12-bolt diff with a Truetrac centre and Moser axles.
She rides on Air Ride suspension with ShockWaves and a four-link set-up. I’ve got tubular A-arms up front and self-levellers as well.
The paint is the same as when I purchased it, with just a few touch-ups, and I also redid the interior to original specs. Next will be a self-tuning EFI system and a digital dash.”
