So the bad news was that day four of Street Machine Drag Challenge at South Coast Raceway was rained out. The good news is that day five at Dragway at the Bend is going to be a cracker!

Once the racers signed on at South Coast Raceway, they headed out on a scenic road trip that took the convoy through Mt Gambier, past the freshwater Lake Alexandrina (where Stormboy was set) and onto the mandatory stop in Kingston, home of the Big Lobster.

After a quick pitstop at the excellent Meningie Hotel for a lemon squash, we headed to the Big4 at The Bend for the night.

So while everyone was disappointed not to be racing today, it did give the racers a day to recover and prepare for the big one tomorrow.

Gates open at 8.00am, with racing from 10am until 4pm. After which, we’ll present trophies to our class winners and crown the owner of Australia’s Fastest Street Car for 2023.
