The weather gods were kind to us yesterday for official kick off of Street Machine Summernats 34.

The City Cruise took the show to the people, with 500 toughies rolling down Northbourne Avenue in spectacular style.

The rest of the day was action packed, thanks to Skid Row, the Last Chance Wildcard Shootout and cruising aplenty.

There stacks of cool cars at the event and check out a few of them in the video above, including this crazy Barra-powered HG wagon, an immaculate LC GTR and the most incredible VL Calais Turbo restoration you’ll ever see.

After dark, it was time for the annual Milwaukee Street Machine of the Year VIP party, where we handed over the iconic trophy to this year’s winner, Chad Ribbons. Chad was running on fumes, have completed a respray of his HD ute only hours before the party started.

We also hosted the induction of the latest Laurie Starling Scholarship award winner, Corey Scragg from Deluxe Rod Shop. Corey has worked on two cars that you can check out in the elite hall this weekend – a rad FX Holden that is set to be unveiled tonight and Brian Imlach’s stunning ’34 Chev.

Jasmine Green is a previous Laurie Award winner and she brought her freshly-repainted HiLux to display at the event. Thanks, Jazzy!
