The first sold-out Saturday in Summernats history was a monster with action popping across the site all day to entertain the massive crowd.

More than ever, 100 people could have 100 totally different experiences at the event.

In the Meguiar’s Pavilion, the high achievers in the Street, Tuff Street and Elite Judging were recognised.

Matt McIntosh’s HQ Statesman raked in a massive trophy hall, including a spot in the Top 10 and the always-coveted Top Judged Elite.

Craig McKenzie’s fresh take on the HR ute made famous by Ditch Jones went over a treat, slotting straight into the Top Ten and second in bodywork.

Carolyn Hayes’s Torana placed in the Top 20, not bad for a car destined for the punishment of Drag Challenge!

Peter Lewis’s Howard Astill-built BOSS XC was a popular winner of the coveted People’s Choice gong.

Other highlights included Peter Fitzpatrick’s induction into the Master Craftsman club, and Frank Russo’s PROVC1 taking out Tuff Street.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the venue, Burnout Masters qualifying was red hot.

The second day of dyno action in the Haltech Horsepower Heroes was headlined by Cody Hunt’s VE Clubsport R8 wagon, which jumped straight to the top of the overall leaderboard with a whopping 1611rwhp run from the twin-turbo LS combo.

With that it’s shaping up to be an LS versus Barra shootout for the overall title tomorrow. Cody’s VE has thrown down the gauntlet to Andrew Copey’s FG F6 ute, which pumped out 1422rwhp on Friday
in qualifying.

The event wraps up tomorrow with the Vibrant Supreme show and shine, Horsepower Heroes finals, the Grand Champion driving events and the burnout finals. Don’t miss it!
