Sydney was treated to an extra dose of Brashernats action this year, with the crew running the Burnout Showdown event yesterday at Sydney Dragway. As usual, the field was star-studded, with the likes of Rick Fuller in LSONE, Wal Gersekowski in 1TUFHG, Mark Schwarz in HANFUL, Chris Smallmon in BLOWNVY and many more.
Check out the slideshow below and read on for the results:
Steve Edsell in SKDUTE has been in electric form of late. He placed fourth overall at Brashernats proper back in June and followed that up with back-to-back wins at Dragway at the Bend and the top spot at Thrashernats in Wagga. Steve was first man out in the finals at the Burnout Showdown and set a standard that could not be topped.
Ryan Pearson in HOLDON nailed second place, having got some practise on the Sydney Dragway pad the previous weekend at the Clay World event. It was a return to form for Ryan, who had fuel pressure issues in the Thrashernats final and a wall hit at Red CentreNats.
Ryan was on fire earlier in the year, with three wins on the trot at Northern Nats 8, the Wagga Burnout Party and the Tamworth Tyre Torture event.
Shane D’Amato placed third overall in GHETTO and won a ticket to the Pro Burnout Series finals at Street Machine Summernats 37.
There was plenty of action all day, some of it punishing on panel and paint. We have a feature coming up on Dom Luci’s LITMUP. The pictures are stunning, so we winced hard when Dom hit the wall on the last skid of the night.
Brad Kilby had a rare fire in HAMMERTIME.
David Davis in BAGMUP also had a hot one!
Adelaide and Victorian peeps, you’ll be able to see this kind of action combined with the excitement of Street Machine Drag Challenge at the Rods Out events, to be held at Dragway at the Bend on 1 Nov and Heathcote Park Raceway on 2 Nov. More info and tickets here.
