Boris came to automotive journalism late in life, having spent the first part of his career in the IT industry. Immersed in the hot rod and American car scene in his hometown of Perth since his late teens – always with camera in hand – Boris was an early adopter of the internet and created the-rumbler.com in 1999. He came to the notice of Australian Street Rodding editor Larry O’Toole after posting some pics of the 2002 Rat Rod Day. After chucking in his IT job, Boris cold-called then-Street Machine editor Geoff Seddon in 2004, resulting in a meeting the next day and the assurance from Seddo: “We’ll give you one job; it’s entirely up to you whether you get another.â€
