This episode of Carnage has been a long time coming, as we float the idea of twin-charging Supermang. That’s right – a blower AND a turbo for the VN!

Way back when we began the process of giving this VN Berlina a new identity as Supermang, using the M90 blower on the L67 was only supposed to be an interim solution; our long-term goal was to turbocharge the V6.

Somehow, we got distracted throwing intercoolers, pulleys and all sorts of nonsense at the blown set-up, only to find that it wasn’t really worth the time – or the money.

So, rather than just ditch the blower, we’ve been thinking about twin-charging the set-up. Scotty’s idea is to have a turbo feeding the blower via an air-to-air intercooler. Now that the VN is running a stroker 4.2-litre V6, that M90 pump really isn’t efficient enough to run with it, so what better way to assist the little screw machine than with a turbo!

Scotty found a few spare snails around the workshop, including one we used on a Barra that made 650rwhp. That should be plenty to get the stroked L67 moving, and if you thought the blower noise was cool, imagine it backed up by a whooshing turbo in the background!
