It has been a hot minute since Street Machine has had a car giveaway up for grabs, with our last serious giveaway being our 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger in 2014. It is a proud tradition, dating back to HQFORU in 1985, and includes such icons as the Castrol Coupe XB, Rock 4, Sony Scorcher, VUFORU and the Comfort Cruiser Galaxie. To kick off 2026, we’ve gone with a dead-set Aussie icon – a genuine LJ GTR Torana, dressed as an XU-1 and powered by a Westend Performance-built Holden V8. The LJ was a neat thing when we bought it, but to make sure the car is a stonker, we shipped it to Rob Zahabi and the Rides by Kam crew to give it a once-over before sending it to Canberra for Street Machine Summernats 38! If you are at the Nats, you can check the car out in person in the Meguiar’s Pavillion.
