If we had a dime for every time someone has asked us to put their car on the cover of our bible, then we’d have enough coin for a 12 month subscription of Street Machine.
Sadly, there are only 13 covers a year. That means the cars we choose to put on them are carefully curated, and even more effort goes into the top tier photoshoots to do them justice.
In the video below, you get a rare insight into what it takes to pull off a cover-worthy shoot for SM. Streety shooter Shawn McCann spent the day with fellow SM photographer Chris Thorogood, who was shooting his 108th cover with this XY.
The car in question is Jim Menelaou’s XY Fairmont, built by Adam Rogash and his team at MPW Performance & Race Fab. It boasts a twin-turbo Ford Coyote V8 that is currently the most powerful of its kind in Australia.
If you want to find out more about this stunning machine, Jim gives us some insight in the video below. You can also run your eyeballs over the complete story in our August issue, out on shelves now or available to order right here.
