AT LAST! Street Machine Hot Rod #20 is out on newsstands now! As always, the mag is a labour of love for our writers, photographers and artists, and in many ways, Hot Rod is the pride of the SM fleet.

It is not only the place where we can cover rods, customs, lowbrow art and the history of our sport in depth, but also where the creative types can flex their muscles and try out new ideas that often filter down to Street Machine proper.

1955 pickupOn the cover of issue 20 is Travis Fink’s stunning F100. The Tiffany Blue ’55 was one of the star debutants at MotorEx earlier in the year. The concept is whip-smart: build a truck with a killer stance and gobs of horsepower (thanks to a monster twin-turbo SBC), but keep it classy with near-stock bodywork and restrained paint.

Rick Werner hot rodOther feature cars include two of the most awarded hot rods of 2019, starting with Rick Werner’s Street Machine Summernats Grand Champion ’32 Ford pick-up.

MYDADS PlymouthAnd then we have Dean Wilson’s MYDADS Plymouth, which has nabbed a swag of tinware this year, including Top Street Rod at the Street Rod Nationals. They are radically different builds, but both are stand-out cars in their own right.

Tattooist Drea DarlingOur art quotient for the issue includes the amazing tattoo work of Brisbane’s Drea Darling, inspired by native Aussie flora and fauna.

gasser conceptAnd if you have a nostalgia racer in the build, be sure to check out Steve Brown’s concepts for 60s-style gassers.

Bob SheperdWe’ve got plenty of history goodness in there as well, headed up by an amazing feature on drag racing legend Bob ‘The Quarter-Mile Smile’ Shepherd.

All this and more in SM Hot Rod #20 – out now!
