Based on the new Softail platform, the Harley-Davidson Breakout is a sexy beast straight off the showroom floor, with decent rake and a 21-inch tyre at the front, and fat 240-section rubber on the rear. The Breakout has plenty of brawn to match the visuals, though, thanks to the black-track abilities of the torquey, 114-cube Milwaukee-Eight V-twin.
All of this seems to just spur Breakout owners on to modify their bikes, so much so that Harley-Davidson has announced the Breakout Boss competition, aiming to showcase the amazing builds Harley fans have brought to life, with one ultimately crowned the Breakout Boss.
Breakout owners have until 20 November to submit pictures of their ride to be in the running.
There will be six rounds to Breakout Boss, each with 10 entrants and a round winner. Beginning 14 November, each fortnight Harley-Davidson will announce the finalists and overall round winner via social media and the Breakout Boss website.
Each round winner will be entered into the grand final round, where the Breakout Boss will be announced on 17 March 2023. The winner will score not only enduring kudos, but also a feature in Heavy Duty mag, a custom Breakout Boss plaque and fuel tank, Harley apparel and more.
There will also be a Breakout Boss People’s Choice award, with 10 entrants facing six rounds of public voting. Click here to enter your bike.
