A MASSIVE spill in the final moments of the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona yesterday left Austin Dillon on his roof with bits of wrecked NASCAR strewn across the infield.

Miraculously, Dillon walked away from the scene of the accident moments later. It is being hailed as one of the biggest incidents ever seen in a NASCAR event at Daytona.

The 161-lap race was won by Dale Earnhardt Jr. who crossed the line a split second before the chaos started behind him as a result of Denny Hamlin’s car being turned sideways.

In the videos above and below, it is Dillon’s car being flung into the catch fence amid the pile-up. The engine and transmission were torn away from the body, leaving little more than a roll cage with Dillon strapped inside.

Five spectators were injured in the crash. Four of them were treated at the track while the fifth was taken to hospital and later released.

It was one almighty shake up, and there’s no doubt in our minds that Dillon is one of the luckiest blokes walking the planet after this one.
