Found rotting in a paddock, this Aussie-delivered C20 was rescued to be rebuilt and transformed into a cool, classic daily driver. Owner Trent Dyball tells his story.

“I found this C20 in a paddock in a terrible condition, but it had one redeeming feature: it was an Australian-delivered, factory right-hand-drive car.
“I’ve always loved the square-bodies, so I sent a tow truck to pick it up. It then sat in a mate’s backyard for a couple of years while I made a plan.

“Once I’d decided to get her back on the road, I delivered the truck to Kosta at KT Automotive Paint & Fabrication for a complete rebuild, using Classic Industries repop panels sourced from the States.
“Kosta completely stripped the truck and started the massive task of getting all the rust cut out of the cab.

“Meanwhile, I picked up a rebuilt 350 Chev for the right price to power the truck. It’s nothing crazy, but 300hp and 325lb-ft will do nicely with the TH350 and 2500rpm converter.
“As the C20 has an eight-lug pattern, my wheel choices were limited, so when Harrop dropped its eight-lug FXH range, I got in contact to see if they’d fit the old girl.

“We were all surprised to find that the specs are the same as a current-model Silverado, so that’s what we’ve gone with.
“With a new tub sourced, the truck now just needs to be painted and wired and the final assembly completed.

“The plan is to have it on the road as my daily driver for this summer, complete with Vintage Air air con! I can’t wait – it should be a cool, practical ride and much more fun than your average drive.”
