With a supercharged Coyote swap mated to a 10-speed auto, plus airbag chassis and plenty of neat fab work, Jakob Psaila’s ’78 F-100 project will be true head-turner when it’s finished. Here’s his brief story on the build so far.

“This is my long-wheelbase 1978 F-100, which started out as a 302 Cleveland/manual RWD car from Bendigo, Victoria.

“It had a bit of rust in the tub and the usual spots around the windscreen, but otherwise it was a good car.

“However, the project now involves a full airbagged chassis from the guys at Cut Weld Drive. It also has a Whipple-supercharged Coyote, as well as a 10-speed auto from a 2023 Mustang.

“The whole rear of the tub was cut out and re-fabricated to suit the chassis, as was the firewall, and a new trans tunnel was made to house the huge 10R80 transmission.

“Once I’ve finished building it, I plan to show it for a bit, and then I just want to cruise it around as much as I can and enjoy it.”
