BF FPV Typhoon
“I distinctly remember downloading desktop wallpapers of the then-new BF FPVs while bludging through a multimedia class in Year 10, so it’s no wonder that I’ve wanted one ever since! In 2019, a mate and I flew to Adelaide and trundled home in this 2006 BF Typhoon.
“It served as my daily until 2024 and has a few scars, but it scrubs up all right for something that gets abused every single time it leaves the shed!

“Engine mods are the common Barra bolt-ons – Empire Elite oil pump gears, Crow valve springs, Plazmaman ’cooler, Venom cat – and it makes a laggy 449hp at the tyres.
“The clutch is a tough, secret-sauce twin-plate from Michael J’s & Son, and the diff has a Truetrac and IMS hat conversion. Shockworks coil-overs look after the bumps, and the car can usually be seen with second-hand Michelin PS4s sprayed up the rear bar from the Friday-night drags at Calder.
“My PB is 12.85@115mph, and as I write this, I’m about to thrash it at Optima Ultimate Street Car. My partner owns a Toxic-painted BF Pursuit, and by some insane coincidence, both cars left the Ford factory on the same day in 2006!”

Holden HZ Kingswood panel van

“I have had my 1977 Kingswood panel van since 2018, purchased farm-fresh from a paddock in Newstead. I’ve spent hundreds of hours turning it into a survivor Sandman tribute; much like me, it’s rough on the outside but pretty on the inside!

“It runs a thong-slapper and Trimatic; we don’t break any land speed records, but it certainly holds its own. The old girl is definitely driven, not hidden, and is a great beach cruiser.”

Holden VR Commodore ute

“Introducing my street-registered, 1JZ-GTE VVTi-swapped VR ute, which makes 570rwhp! I purchased it at age 16 as my first car, running the factory V6, column-shift auto and solid axle. In 2019, I decided I wanted to build it into a fun, unique street car that I could take to the track to drift, which is where the 1JZ came in.

“The mill is backed by a T56 gearbox, and an S13 GKTech rear end with an R32 GT-R diff and axles and Nismo 4.3:1 two-way limited-slip centre. There’s S13 custom-length BC coil-overs at the front and S14 Air Lift Performance airbags out back, and a set of 18in Work Meister S13P wheels all ’round.

“I’ve learned a lot throughout this build, and I’m proud to say I’ve done 90 per cent of the work myself as a first-timer. See more of the ute on Insta @1jz_vr.”

Ford XB Falcon

“My 1973 XB Falcon 500 was a COVID purchase, so I basically bought it sight-unseen. I’m the third owner, and the previous owner had documented everything about the car since its original purchase, including photographs and negatives of when it had a tidy-up in 1997, and every receipt for all the work done to it.

“When I bought the car, it had a Yella Terra 2V head and 350 Holley fitted to the 250, which gave it some get up and go, but not quite enough for me. So, after the gearbox started to give out, I decided to update all the mechanicals with a nice 351, C10 auto with a 3500rpm stall converter, and a 9in diff.
“It now sits on Pedders suspension all ’round, and the brakes have been updated with new slotted rotors. She is a good cruiser as-is, but is in need of some body work and TLC, which will commence shortly.”

Ford BA Fairlane

“Here’s my Fairlane G220. I’ve done a bunch of mods to it so far, including adding a headlight air intake, Mace Engineering airbox and Aeroflow pod filter for the 5.4L Barra 220 V8. Other additions include King SSL springs, short-travel shocks, new headers and a 3in exhaust system.
“I’ve also swapped out the wheels for a set of 20in Pro Drags. I love cruising with the family in the Fairlane to car events. Future plans include retrimming the interior and adding a Vortech supercharger to the Barra 220 for even more fun!”

Holden LX Torana SL/R 5000

“I recently got my hands on this absolute beauty! I had been on the hunt for a Torana for 12 months but couldn’t find the one that ticked all the boxes, so I had the guys at Motorvation Garage find this one for me.
“She’s a ‘turn key and enjoy’ car, that’s for sure! Power comes from a 355 stroker V8, backed by a TKX600 five-speed manual and 800hp-rated BorgWarner diff. Wheels are custom 18in Hotwires, and there’s Wilwood disc brakes all ’round. She’s the full meal deal!”
