Dodge Wayfarer
“This is my 1950 Dodge Wayfarer, which I bought as a roller with no drivetrain. I built it for Drag Challenge events, so hopefully it can compete in one soon!

“Currently it has a Jaguar front end, which holds up a built, iron-block LY6 fed by a Garrett G55 91mm turbo, all controlled by a Haltech Elite 2500.
“The engine is backed by a manualised 4L80E and a sheet-metal 9in with 3.7:1 gearing.
“For street duties, it runs on E85 with a custom 120L fuel tank. So far, the car has made just shy of 1100hp.

“The wheels are 15×4 front and 15×10 rear Weld Draglites, with Mickey Thompson rubber all ’round and 275s on the rear.
“It’s run a best of 9.42@148mph so far, but I’ve got a 427 Dart combo in the works that should see the car into the eights.”

Dodge Challenger

“I’m in the US with a second-gen Dodge Challenger, which is basically the same as your Mitsubishi Scorpions and absolutely hated over here.
“As such, they are super rare, which I love.

“My example has 43,000 original miles and is in mint condition, but I’d like to stiffen up the body roll a little bit with some adjustable coil-overs and thicker sway-bars.

“However, I’ve reached out to a tonne of different suspension, coil-over and airbag companies and nobody makes a kit for this car, as it’s a weird mounting pattern.

“If anyone in Australia can help out, I’m all ears!”

Chrysler VE Valiant

“I picked up a 1967 VE Valiant six weeks before my wedding. It was a runner, but it needed some love.
“Back in the day, this would’ve been a sweet Hindley Street cruiser; the guards had been beaten in to fit some fat tyres once upon a time, there were cables running to the boot for a subwoofer, and it had a red shag carpet dash.
“I pulled out the whole interior; fixed up a couple of pinholes in the floor; added sound deadening; resprayed the dash, doors and door jambs; and retrimmed the door cards and dash pad.

“The exterior was relatively rust-free and straight, so I fixed what I needed to and resprayed it.
“I also did the engine bay with everything still in, and picked up a few chrome trim pieces that were missing, as well as hubcaps for the big day.
“I tuned the 225 slanty, gave it some fresh oils, and it ran like a dream on the warm wedding day!
“The car is still with me and gets driven regularly; I’ve gone to sell it, but I just can’t let it go – it’s a special car.”

Holden VE Commodore

“Here’s my 2008 VE SS, now supercharged with a Harrop 2650 blower.
“It’s formerly from the Penrith Highway Patrol but now resides with me in Melbourne.

“The car has been used by both Horsepower Factory and Veloce Automotive in the past for performance work, which is on YouTube.

“It features a ZR1 fuel set-up, Brian Tooley camshaft and Pacemaker exhaust. The car pushes 625rwhp on the chassis dyno.”
