Anthony Ezzy
Ford F700 & XT Falcon ute

“Here are my two Fords in the build. The 1968 F700 cab has been grafted onto a 1977 F350 chassis with a four-link rear end and widened C30 front end, with airbags all ’round and 22in Alcoa knock-off wheels. The driveline is an aspirated Barra and four-speed combo.

“The XT ute now has a full chassis from the front torque boxes to the tailgate, and runs a forged 850hp Barra backed by a C6 auto and four-linked 9in rear end. Also in the build is a gooseneck trailer for the ute so it can be towed behind the truck.”

Peter Wright
Holden VS Commodore SS ute

“I bought this 1998 VS SS ute initially as a quick fix-up-and-flip deal, but that lasted about all of two weeks before I decided to go to town on it!

“I spent 180 hours completely shaving the engine bay, but then it sat for a year untouched. Over the past six months, I’ve swapped out the factory 5.0L/4L60 driveline in favour of a built LS1, TH400 and 9in diff, with a hidden, custom-made turbo kit with an Aeroflow Boosted 8075 turbo up the back.

“The LS1 wears 1000cc injectors and a Proflow intake with a billet 102mm throttlebody, all controlled by the stock LS1 ECU. There’s also a Fenix intercooler up front with custom-made cooler piping.

“I’m keeping the interior as factory as possible, as it’s already so clean. The Simmons rims are 20×8.5 up front and 20×10 with a 4in backspace out back, although I’m thinking of throwing a set of drag wheels on it soon – still deciding!

“I’ve done all the work on the car myself; there’s some bodywork left to finish off and then paint, but it’s not too far off being completed.”

David North
1948 Austin A40

“My Austin A40 has been converted to a Dorset coupe using A40 tourer doors with stretched sedan door tops. I bought the car from Perth as an unfinished project with the conversion half-done, with a coupe door on one side and sedan doors on the other.

“I removed the doors and made a rear quarter from the rear door skin, stretching the window frame to suit the coupe tourer door. It now runs an all-alloy Toyota 4V-EU hemi V8, coupled to a Supra five-speed with a custom Dellow conversion, and a shortened Mustang diff to fit the 8.5in Weld rims under the rear.
