Ray Cordell
EH Holden ute

“I retired in 2020, and was after a project to keep my mind active.

“My favourite car was always the EH Holden ute, but they are hard to find due to farmers leaving them to rot in paddocks.

“I live in Armidale, NSW, and found this one just over the border in Queensland. It had no motor or ’box, or anything, really!

“I’ve started down the path of a restomod, as I have a VT SS with an LS1 and Stage 2 4L60E ’box ready to donate its running gear.

“I’ve had it for just over 12 months, and I’m enjoying the build so far.”

Brendan Murphy
Ford XC panel van

“I’ve almost finished my XC panel van build, which has taken around two years so far.

“It has been a full garage home-build for the mechanicals, with a few good roosters helping with the panels.

“A good mate, Graham from Little Shed Developments, went over-and-above on the paintwork.

“It runs a 400-cube small-block, C6 transmission and 9in diff.”

Coe Family
1977 Holden Gemini coupe

“I would like to share a project my family and I have been busy with.

“We purchased our 1977 Gemini coupe when my daughter, Ruby, showed interest in becoming a mechanic as part of her homeschooling.

“We took it down to bare metal, rebuilt the parts we could, and sourced the rest from the internet.

“My wife, Clarissa, chose the mint green colour and learnt how to paint in our backyard with a makeshift booth.

“It’s not going to be on the road next week, because we’re enjoying the project as a family. Even my son, Stanley, is coming around.”

Kevin Lingroth
Hyundai Getz

“I am currently building something a bit different for the skid scene: a blown LS-powered, rear-wheel-drive Hyundai Getz, with the help of my two young daughters, Aimee and Georgia.

“Hopefully, one day it will be their car to enjoy on the pad. The driveline consists of an 8/71 supercharger, a cast-iron 6.0L LY6 and a two-speed Powerglide.

“It also has a shortened Ford 9in diff. My goal is to have it all running and entered for a debut at Gazzanats 2026, skidding it and having fun!”

Nathan Yossa
Ford XY Falcon 500

“After years of pushing for it, my dad has finally started the resto on my grandfather’s original XY Falcon 500, which he bought brand new way back when.

“It’s a factory three-speed, column-shift car, in Ford Bronze Wine.

“The goal is a full restoration, and we’re documenting the whole process on my YouTube channel, SergeantWombat.”
