“THIS is my 1971 GTS Monaro coupe, build #39. I have always had a passion for old Holden muscle cars, with HQs being the pick for me; the body lines are just mean and sexy.

After lots of dreaming, I found this run-down, neglected Lina Mint green coupe. I picked my dad up and we drove it from one side of the country to the other to pick it up.

What a memorable trip! Once home, I stripped her down and rebuilt her. She runs a four-bolt 350 Chev with double-hump fuellie heads, a steel crank and balancer and lumpy-top pistons, for a compression ratio of 11:1. She has a two-speed Powerglide and a disc-brake rear end with a 3.55:1 gear ratio.

I bought the coupe so I could take the whole family (wife, two kids and my old dog) out cruising, and she drives really nice. I have loud plans for her in the future. Green is nice!”
