THE Street Machine Supernats is now in its 20th year and is set to rock Sydney Dragway tomorrow.

What’s on? For starters, Supernats is a qualifying round for the Summernats Burnout Masters competition, so there will be a ton of top-level tyre fryers on hand to smoke ‘em up. Last year Steve Loader pipped Phil Kerjean for the win. Loader’s engine isn’t ready for this year’s event, so maybe it will be Phil’s turn to take the gold.

There is also a strong drag racing element to the event, with the likes of Sam Fenech and Frank Mamone thrashing their 10.5 Outlaw monsters down the quarter. Racing is heads-up and open to any fast car with swinging doors, with a $10,000 prize pool up for grabs.

A special feature for this year’s show is big rigs. There will be some wild show trucks on display, truck drag racing and even truck burnouts!

The biggest award at the show is the Show ‘n’ Go Champion gong, which was last year taken out by Kresi Basonovic in his super-tough HG. Holden. You can read the full feature on that beast out in the latest issue of the mag.
