CLASSIC ROCK

Vintage and historic race cars stretch their legs at the Phillip Island Classic

Share

THE Phillip Island Circuit is one of the most idyllic race circuits in the world, and each March the pits fill with hundreds of beautiful vintage and historic race cars for a weekend of racing.

The Phillip Island Classic is your chance to check out everything from 1920s open-wheeled speedsters to Formula 5000 and Aussie V8 Series survivors tearing around the track. With more than 500 entries, there is something for everyone!

You can also wander freely through the pits to inspect these beasts in close detail, and maybe strike up a chat with their owners and drivers. There were some big names racing, including John Bowe and Rusty French. For info on next year’s meeting, check out vhrr.com.
