STREET Machine deputy editor Scott Taylor has been a drag racer all his adult life and is the man behind our own Drag Challenge, but he’s never had the chance to make it to the holy grail of street car drag racing – Hot Rod Drag Week in the USA – until now.

With our former art guru Povi Pullinen along for the ride to document the madness, Scotty has been on the ground and loving every minute of it. The lads are currently getting some shut-eye, but the same can’t be said for all of the Aussies competing, with Harry Haig’s ratty Chevelle spitting out some bolts from the crown wheel on the road leg between Madison and Indianapolis.
