If you love your Holden’s and particularly five litre V8s, then odds are you’d have come across the Torq Hub Media lads on YouTube.
Run by Jeff and Kurt out of south west Perth, Torq Hub has been going strong for over four years. While JBens was over in the wild west, he paid a visit to both Jeff and Kurt to check out their sheds and see what makes them tick behind the scenes.
Kurt’s shed is where the bulk of the fabrication work takes place. They have built Fords in the past, but right now Kurt is focusing his efforts on his VH wagon sleeper build.
It’s using a rear mount turbo that’ll feed a standard looking iron lion, and should be a real weapon when it’s done. It shares shed space with Kurt’s beloved VR BT1, which he’s had in his family for 20 odd years.
Like the VH it’s also a turbocharged five litre, but looks far less standard with a glorious Group A inlet manifold front and centre.
Jumping down the road to Jeff’s shed, JBens finds another blown 5.0 90s Holden. Jeff’s is a VS ute, a car he (unsurprisingly) got from Kurt. He’s also working on a VH, in the middle of what’s been a nine year resto on his schmick SL/E.
As well as taking care of mechanical work in Jeff’s shed, it’s also doubles as a recording studio for their podcast. The lads talk all things cars, culture and events, so it’s worth a listen/watch if you love down to earth car content.
