WE WERE out at the Calder Park test-and-tune session last Sunday filming with the MPW Performance boys for the finale of the ALLSHOW video series. As well as Adam Rogash’s twin-turbo LS-powered VK Commodore (cover star of the October Street Machine!), there were plenty of quick cars out and lots of action!

Arty Roumbos had a couple of wild rides in his 440ci Ford-powered Capri, including a massive wheelstand. Victor Paplos went 8.90 in his new-look LX Torana that managed to pop the hatch on one run. Tony Rahim had his GTRBOS R32 Skyline out to play, and after starting the day in the 11s, the 777hp forged RB26-powered weapon ran quicker than ever and deep into the nines.

The big news however was Steve Athans in the Dandy Engines big-block Chev-powered Ford Mustang. Steve’s final run of the day saw a 7.10-seconds at 202mph!

As for the MPW Performance boys, Luke Foley put even more street kilometres on his alloy 6.0-litre twin-turbo VH Commodore. He drives to the track with three blokes and his young fella, inserts the parachute, races and drives home – because street car. His first pass was a PB for this engine combo too: 8.46@163mph.

Adam Rogash and ALLSHOW were on a mission to bring home the car’s first seven-second timeslip. The first two runs were scary to watch as the brand-new car came very loose in the top end, but fortunately Adam was able to keep it in shape. After that it was time to pull power out.

With next to no boost on the startline, ALLSHOW finally hooked up and went through for a solid 8.3@178mph with a 1.6-second 60ft. It had the mph to run a seven; just the 60ft was off. For the final run of the day it was time to turn up the startline boost a little and send it. Four pedals to get down the track and she went [email protected] – a PB for the car, but not the seven Adam was after.

Watch this space though, because it’s only a matter of time until we see ALLSHOW in the sevens.
