Most parents wouldn’t even allow their five-year-old to make toast, but former professional motorcycle racer Kenan Sofuoğlu has just let his son Zayn loose behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Revuelto on an airstrip.
Then again, Kenan isn’t your average dad. Not only is he a five-time Supersport world champion, but he was also elected to the Turkish parliament in 2018. He caused a stir by driving a Lamborghini Aventador to the opening day of the 2018 parliamentary session, parking in a spot reserved for an opposition deputy.
If you aren’t up with your modern Lambos, the Revuelto is powered both by an 814hp, 6.5-litre V12 and a 187hp electric motor, for a total of 1001hp, delivered to all four paws via an eight-speed dual-clutch auto. So yeah, a little more squirt than your average mini-rod.
To enable the pint-sized Zayn to drive the Revuelto, the car was decked out with a special baby seat and pedal extenders.
A look at Zayn’s Instagram account reveals that he’s had plenty of practice on both two and four wheels, including go-karts, a Tesla Model S Plaid and a Nissan 200SX drift car. He’s even done doughnuts in a Ferrari SF90!
Even so, it is uncanny to watch how focused the five-year-old is during his time on the runway. Once past the finish line, Zayn sneaks a look at the clocks, checks the rearview mirror, and then looks ahead again while he brakes. Even when his dad goes for the high-five, Zayn responds without taking his eyes off the road. And while chucking some doughnuts, he is constantly checking his surroundings.
Zayn’s 312km/h run in the Revuelto surely makes him the fastest kid on earth – at just five years and 128 days old!
