One of my favourite feature cars in recent years has been Anthony Fuller’s FJ Holden custom. True wild custom builds are few and far between these days and those built on a classic Australian platform are even rarer.

Not only that, but Anthony did the lot on a budget and stuck to a very cool 50s theme, using largely using parts that would have been available when the car was near-new. This includes a Chev Blue Flame six and a 1955 Vauxhall dash to give the car a GM concept car feel.

There is some more modern tech hidden away in the build though, including airbags and 3D printed dash knobs.

Dubbed the FU Holden, Anthony’s whole philosophy is to get out there and drive it! Recently, Anthony and his mate Nav recently headed out to the Downs Dust Up #2 event in Toowoomba and put together this awesome video, documenting the road trip, some dirt drags and even a cute dog or two.

The Dust Up is a cracking event, primarily aimed at pre 1949 traditional hot rods and pre 1956 bikes. We can’t think of anyone better than Anthony to show us around the event, so check out the video and enjoy.
